Precision Optical Performance LEDs from Avago

Avago releases new 5mm Round, 4mm and 5mm Oval High-Brightness Through-Hole LEDs.

Avago Technologies is one of the world’s largest producers of visible LEDs, known for performance, efficiency and reliability, offering an extensive product profile.

The following newly introduced LEDs enhance the portfolio with usage of advanced techniques and materials, making the product resilient, reliable and efficient. Some of the differences in features and benefits are briefly highlighted below with key applications based on a variety of Electronic Signs & Signals (ESS).

The HLMP-LM65, HLMP-LB65 & HLMP-LG65-xxxx 4mm Precision Optical Performance Oval LEDs are designed for full colour/video and passenger information signs. The oval shaped radiation pattern and high luminous intensity ensure that these devices provide excellent wide field view for outdoor applications where a wide angle and readability in sunlight are essential. The package epoxy contains both UV-A and UV-B inhibi¬tors, reducing the effects of long term exposure to direct sunlight. They are tinted and diffused with a typical viewing angle of 50° x 100°.

HLMP-LM65 & -LB65 are available in green and blue colours; Green InGaN 525nm and Blue InGaN 470nm, respectively.

The HLMP-HG65, HLMP-HM65 & HLMP-HB65 are 5mm Standard Oval LEDs with high brightness material, offering same feature set as the above, with typical viewing angle of 40° x 100°, available in Red (AIInGaP 626nm), Green (InGaN 525nm and Blue (InGaN 470nm) colours.

The HLMP-AG65, HLMP-AM65 & HLMP-AB65 5mm Mini Oval LEDs are available in Red (AIInGaP 626nm), Green (InGaN 525nm) & Blue (InGaN 470nm) colours with features highlighted for all above but with viewing angle of 30° x 70°.

The HLMP-AG63, HLMP-AH63, HLMP-AL63, HLMP-HG63, HLMP-HH63, HLMP-HL63 are 5mm Mini and Standard Oval AllnGap LEDs, again with feature sets outlined above, offered in Amber (590nm), Red-Orange (615nm) and Red (626nm) colours, offering viewing angles of 30° x 70° for the Mini Oval and 40° x 100° for the Standard Oval LEDs.

The HLMP-EGxx, HLMP-ELxx and HLMP-EHxx are 5mm Extra High Brightness AIInGaP LEDs with superior light output for excellent readability in sunlight, featuring low forward voltage for energy efficiency while delivering high performance, reliability and a smooth consistent radiation pattern. The AIInGaP technology provides stable light output for longer periods These LEDs are untinted, made with advanced optical grade epoxy offering high temperature and high moisture resistance performance in outdoor applications such as traffic signals, pedestrian crossing & warning signals and messaging boards. The viewing angles specified are 15°, 23° and 30°, available in Amber (590nm), Red-Orange (615nm) and Red (626nm) colours.

The HLMP-CBxx, and HLMP-CMxx are 5mm high intensity, efficient & cost-effective, Blue & Green LEDs, based on InGaN technology. These LEDs are untinted , made with advanced optical grade epoxy offering high temperature and high moisture resistance performance in outdoor applications such as traffic signals, outdoor commercial advertising, front-panel indicators & backlighting. The viewing angles specified are 15°, 23° and 30°.
