TI’s C2000 devices are 32-bit digital signal controllers integrated with high performance peripherals and optimized DSP core designed for real-time control. The C2000 devices can execute many complex control algorithms at speeds required by demanding control applications.

 

Most of TI’s C2000 development kit can support an industry-standard DIMM form factor slot to match various controlCARDs which are complete board level, low-profile modules that utilize uniform gold finger interface.

 

C2000 Digital Power Experimenter Kit (DPEK) is an excellent tool suitable for hardware or software design engineers who want to explore the concept of digital power supply design.

  • A TMS320F2808-based controlCARD;
  • 2-rail DC-DC evaluation board using TI PowerTrain™ modules;
  • A 9V power supply;
  • A Standalone JTAG emulator;
  • An on-board digital multi-meter and active load;
  • A Code Composer Studio™ IDE v.3.3 C28x™ Free 32K byte Version;
  • An C2000 application software with example code and full hardware details;
  • A Digital Power Supply Workshop teaching material and lab software;

  • 10-Amp SyncBuck DC/DC power stages (no heat-sink required) with built in MOSFET drivers
  • Active load for transient response testing (switching timing controlled by ECAP peripheral)
  • Voltage input and output measurements via ADC
  • Temperature measurement for each channel monitored by ADC
  • Current measurement for each channel monitored by ADC
  • Over-current protection and fault flag detection via GPIO
  • Closed loop digital control with voltage feedback using F28x on-chip ePWM and ADC
  • Optional looped back ePWM signals, allowing ADC inputs to provide a simple scope to view waveforms in Code Composer Studio
  • 8 x LED indicators for diagnostics and fault status
  • UART communications header available for host control
  • Host GUI, a friendly way to control / demo the application, based on open source C# freeware
  • Hardware Developer’s Package is available and includes schematics, bill of materials, Gerber files … etc.
