We will explore enhancements to CompactPCI 2.0 for Next Generation systems that need to support high speed serial protocols such as SAS, PCI Express, USB and Gigabit Ethernet.
Actual board level applications will be presented to demonstrate how to implement high speed serial protocols using the 3M(TM) UHM Connector and standard 2 mm hard metric backplane systems.
Additionally you will also learn about the new UHM Socket Connectors from 3M designed to mate with industry-standard and widely available 2 mm hard-metric header connectors (IEC 61076-4-101). “Virtual coaxial box” shielding technology from 3M dramatically reduces the severe crosstalk commonly experienced by 2 mm hard-metric connectors at 1 to 1.5 Gbps speeds, enabling the new UHM socket connectors from 3M to achieve speeds greater than 7 Gbps.
