This newly created role can be based in either our Leeds office within the UK, or Ravenswood, Chicago, US.
The main purpose of this role is to formulate and direct the strategy and plans for Community and Social media in building brand, increasing membership and participation, and customer acquisition from element14. Drive expansion of CRM into social marketing platforms seeking new methodologies to grow the online business, expand brand awareness and provide for social monetization and achievement of key engagement metrics. Develop a Premier Farnell center of expertise around online community and social media. This role will serve as the lead of a highly visible team within the eCommerce group providing expert support in all Social related activities
The key skills, know how and experience include
- Experience in broad marketing, online marketing, community and social media. Experience in electronics industry is beneficial.
- Advanced functional knowledge of online community and social media platforms and their applicability to element14
- Experience leveraging social media in commercial settings and driving transformation in social media
- Proven skills in leading a start up initiative
- Must be a team player with strong people skills.
- Desirable past experience includes: Email Marketing, Search Marketing, Online Advertising and site performance reporting and analytics (Omniture, Social Listening tools).
- Experience driving programs forward in multi-faceted, complex organizations
- Professional maturity and experience to drive company-wide strategies and execution among multiple stakeholders
- Experience in leading global teams and programmes
- Strong communication and partnering
