Taiwanese-based DynaScan has unveiled a new flat-panel RGB LED backlight module, which it claims has innovative technology to offer distinct advantages over other models.
Measuring in at six mm thick, the new product is equipped with a local dimming feature that allows for 90 per cent light out efficiency and can achieve a colour gamut of 150 per cent.
Furthermore, the company believes it has overcome a common problem facing liquid crystal displays, which is colour distortion by leakage of its structure, by utilising local dimming to minimise the weakness.
It also uses a real-time simultaneous detection of multiple RGB LEDs, "done between the pictures’ frame retrace-time", therefore compensating against decay in each diode.
DynaScan designs and develops digital signage services for its clients across a range of clients, including entertainment, retail, transport and at public venues to "enhance advertising".
The company was founded in 1998 and operates in North America, Asia and Europe.
