Handheld Oscilloscope

Handheld oscilloscope is the abridged name of Handheld Digital Storage Oscilloscope, which is defined as a compact and reliable oscilloscope that can ensure sufficient operation time even if there is no external power supply when working in the wild. To make sure it can keep working for a sufficient lifetime when powered by the batteries, it is necessary to optimize the design for power consumption, battery capacity, and power conversion efficiency. Firstly, we should adopt the Li-ion batteries featured with high capacity and power density to be the power supply for handheld oscilloscope, which not only is able to provide more power, but also remains small in size. Secondly, we should use a high efficiency DC-DC converter in order to save the power stored in the batteries. Finally, we should simplify the features of the handheld oscilloscope to save power to the maximum extent, for example, reducing the sampling rate to an appropriate level (usually tens of MHz), reducing the times of harmonic analysis or entirely disable the function, and using a smaller display. Now many Handheld oscilloscopes integrate together oscilloscope, multi-meter and paperless recorder to combine measurement, waveform display and recording functions into one platform, greatly facilitating the applications that must be accomplished in the wild or those have no special requirement.
