Kit Overview


The ADSP-21371 EZ-KIT LiteADSP-21371 EZ-KIT Lite provides developers with a cost-effective method for initial evaluation of the ADSP-2137x SHARC  Processors via a USB-based, PC-hosted tool set. With this EZ-KIT Lite, users can learn more about the Analog Devices (ADI) ADSP-2137x hardware and software development tools, and quickly prototype a wide range of applications. The ADSP-21371ADSP-21371 offers a high performance at a very low cost 266 MHz/1596 MFLOPs -- within the third generation SHARC Processor family. The ADSP-21371ADSP-21371 offers increased performance, audio and application-focused peripherals, and memory configurations capable of supporting surround-sound decoder algorithms.


The EZ-KIT Lite includes an ADSP-21371  SHARC Processor desktop evaluation board along with an evaluation suite of the VisualDSP++  development and debugging environment, including the C/C++ compiler, assembler, and linker. The evaluation suite of VisualDSP++ is designed to be used with the EZ-KIT Lite only. The development environment aides advanced application code development and debug. Access to the ADSP-21371ADSP-21371 processor from a personal computer (PC) is achieved through a USB port or an external JTAG emulator. The USB interface provides unrestricted access to the ADSP-21371ADSP-21371 processor and evaluation board peripherals.


The EZ-KIT Lite board provides access to all of the processor’s peripheral ports. Access is provided in the form of a three-connector expansion interface. Additionally, the ADSP-21371 EZ-KIT LiteADSP-21371 EZ-KIT Lite contains the National Instruments Educational Laboratory Virtual Instrumentation Suite (ELVIS) interface. This interface will allow using the DC voltage and current measurement modules, oscilloscope and bode analyzer modules, function generator, arbitrary waveform generator and digital I/O.
