Here is my little example of how to use a blog entry for indiscriminate advertisement in this group. The name of the discussion group is "Motion control".
Advertisement here in this group is free and open to anyone. It is not part of any policy of owners of this web site.
Manufacturers, distributors, engineers, users - anyone is welcome to post here their products, and services.
This group is open to anyone. You do no need to become its member in order to create your discussion, advertisement, or files.
Note: In January, 2010 Farnell accidentally deleted this motion control group. I restored it. All are welcome to rejoin.
Anyone may create their own blog entry. Please allow comments. So, other users may comment on your services. And you may hold a little, separate discussion with them. Please do not abuse the system.
I have noticed a few drawbacks:
- The system does not allow to edit the blog entry. Only the administrator of the group can. (That is me.) But I may be wrong. Do you see "Edit post" command on the right of your screen? If not, then perhaps you are at the top of the blog "tree".
You need to switch to a particular date branch. Follow the link called "Permalink" (at the bottom of your blog entry). There you see the blog entry again, and the "Edit post" command. If not, then we need to change the way we keep advertisements. - The blog is organized by dates. But dates are irrelevant in advertisement.
Perhaps we'd better create a separate discussion for advertisers, and allow strictly one post per product or advertiser. Or create separate discussions for each advertiser.
But the method of advertisement in section for discussions would mess with main content.
Maybe it is better to put the advertisements in the section for "Files". These would be truly permanent pages, not segmented by dates. But "Files" section would be mixed up with other content, which would be put there.
Perhaps in "Files" we could create a single page for all advertisers. Each makes a small introduction, with a link to their own content for further discussions in private or indeed in public, but off this group.
My offer (advertisement) is this:
My recent expertise in motion control is in products from Trinamic. I know, and sell both their microchips, and circuit boards (modules). I sell them worldwide as a distributor. Users may buy from me directly in any quantity. Before, and after purchase I provide all the help possible.
I develop applications, software for Trinamic modules. I integrate hardware.
I feature a special software for Trinamic modules. I call it TMCM-DLL, and TMCM-Loader. It helps in quick learning, prototyping. It also allows programmatic control as a DLL (programmatic library) from computer.
For people, who use the modules without computer (standalone, or via a custom logic) it is still useful, because it allows prototyping with computer before doing the standalone logic.
I do not advertise Trinamic. On my web site you may see why. I rather advertise my own services, and those of my customers. Support, programming, integration, supply. Trinamic is not the best product. It is but optimal for some applications.
I am always looking for other suppliers. If you make interesting controllers, or microchips, you are welcome to ask me to resell them.
Motion and Trinamic are not my only trades. I am experienced in serving science, and industry, implementing bigger projects. I am a Systems Integrator.
I may offer products from my customers.
- A 12 axis stepper motor controller board with many auxiliary high speed inputs.
- A plasma cutting robot. Good price, and performance. Suitable even for home use, or in a garage.
- Other small robots, manipulators.
You may ask me to advertise your products, even if you do not become my customer.
You may ask me to adapt my software to your hardware. You would save a couple of years on development. The device of your design, would become compatible with others, which use my software. This would allow my and your users a greater choice of hardware without the need to change their software, which connects with my software.
Since 2011 I resell (distribute) one more make of motion control.
It includes:
- Integrated circuits (IC, microchips). Communication: parallel 8 or 16 bit.
- Printed circuit boards (PCB, modules). PCI, RS232, USB, Ethernet.
Output: Step/Dir (for stepper motors).
Number of axes per IC and per PCB: 1, 2, 4, 8.
Interpolation: models both with and without it available.
Nearest plans for new products of this make include:
- To include drivers:
integrated in IC.
on board of PCB.
- Number of phases: 2, 3, 5, 6.
- 6 or 12 axes IC.
- Control for servo motors.
Example of price of this new make in my ration:
4 axis Step/Dir controller IC without interpolation: 38 EUR.
It is expensive. But has a lot of features for smooth motion. Separate leads for limits (2 wires) and home (3 wires), I/O wires, fast parallel communication (8 or 16 bits), various modes of acceleration, including S-ramp.
Well fit for microstepping, as position counter is 4 bytes wide.
Evaluation board with this IC is available at 79 EUR.
It is ready to use, including on board quarz clock (can be disabled). It has pins for insertion, or for soldering directly into your own equipment.
Size of the board: 45×45mm.
