Fake person take Japan by storm

Aimi Uguchi is 16 years old, 152 cm tall (5 feet), the newest member of AKB48, the candy promoting singing supergroup. Also, she is a complete Frankenstein composite of 6 other girls from the group and another for a voice. She is but only a CG creation. Using motion capture techniques the AKB48 designers took what they thought were the best features of 6 of the real life actors.

The so called publicity stunt fooled fans, and the public, for weeks. The AKB48 management company defended Aimi saing, "she’s real. She didn’t take the 12th generation auditions, so we had to quickly accept her (into generation 12.5)." However, some became suspicious of the overall look. Later, the company made an about face on their stance.

I will say, I would have been fooled for a bit if I didn't already know it was fake.
