Load Google Translate The International Standardisation Organisation (ISO) announced the publication of a new environment management system (EMS) standard ISO 14006:2011. The new standard specifically addressed how businesses can enhance their environmental performance through fully integrating eco-design policies throughout their organisation. This includes advice on how systems can be used to ensure that eco-design considerations are addressed at the product design and development stage.
ISO 14006:2011 is designed to be used in conjunction with other elements of the ISO’s 1400X series which describe how a modern company can establish and run an EMS. The new standard is also designed to integrate with other pertinent standards like the existing recognised quality management system ISO 9001 and other eco-design standards like ISO/TR12062 and the International Electrotechnical Commission’s IEC 62430. The principles outlined in ISO 14006:2011 are applicable to any organisation though it does not contain any specific environmental performance criteria and cannot be used for certification purposes.

Like most other such standards one has to pay to read it (in this case £103) - a bit like having speed limit signs with pay to read credit card slot !
Perhaps ERA would like to quote publicly the total cost of standards that they think a small electronics design and manufacturing business based in the UK should buy.
