Load Google Translate Hi all,
I just treated myself to a new Dell Streak at the weekend - half price in Tesco! Now I know it's a bit big for a phone, a bit small for a tablet - but that's exactly why it's right for me. I barely use my phone as a phone - the occasional text, the occasional phone call from my partner - but mostly it's the replacment for my Palm PDA that I loved. So, with a 5 inch screen to see my data clearly, but still small enough to fit all my handbags, it's the right choice for me.
Now, what I would like everyone's help with is Android app recommendations. I had my Windows phone loaded with really just the essentials - so the thought of diving into the app stores and finding just what I need (or don't even know what I need) is a bit daunting. So, if anyone has any recommendations for apps they have used (or even just heard they are good), in all categories:
Work-related
Technology-related
Life-organising
Fun and games
- it is my phone, not a work one, after all!
Anything, really! Preferably free or faily cheap, if possible... Thanks for your help!

First think to get is a barcode scanner. I have Netreader and it works really well.
Then Angry Birds, after that you'll be too busy playing it to worry about any other apps ![]()
I knew I'd get some helpful advice from here! Barcode and QR code reader, I'd forgotten that one...
Angry Birds was already on my shortlist ![]()

RealCalc scientific calculator, freeware, very good. Bar code scanner is the only other app I use frequently.
Angrybirds is a must along with the barcode scanner. Might also wish to look at the Amazon Kindle app, fairly useful for filling in those long waits. Depending on what you are doing, Springpad can be useful, it is a decent notebook/list app that syncs to the cloud. Another useful one is Google Goggles. Searching from your camera is always a laugh. I have plenty of others on my phone, just a lot depends on what you want to do.
Can't forget of course the E14 app ![]()
Space Junk is really cool for stargazing and seeing where everything is.
Droidtesla is great on my Motorola Xoom - circuit simulation while out an d about. A great way to pass time while travelling as well.
