The Chinese news service, Xinhua, has announced that the Chinese government has imposed recycling targets of 70% for electronic waste. The targets are part of a raft of measures aimed at improving China’s recycling performance and include, amongst others, paper, metal and glass. The targets are ambitious and it will be interesting to see how the government implements the changes to its infrastructure that will be required.
Will China manage in 3 years to achieve recycling rates that Europe has struggled with for more than a decade?
