Load Google Translate Got one, works fine.I also got the matching expansion board from ArrowNAC.
No problems installing and running Quartus 9.1 and Nios 9.1 on Windows XP.
You have to read the lab manual carefully. I missed the part about were to put program storage on the internal or external ram.
Changed the program around a bit, still works.
Next sessions will be to try the other NIOS processors, such as the Economy model. The time limited or tethered operation with the processors might be an issue later, but I just want to play around with learning SOPC and NIOS for now...

I'm currently thinking about buying a BeMicro FPGA Stick but because I don't like to BUY A PIG IN A POKE I wanted to download some documentation ( schematics, I/O pin description ... ) from the arrow web site: http://www.arrowce.com/bemicro clicking onto the "Download link" in the Documentation and Reference Designs section.

Just to add, the documentation does not seem to be quite clear about the SDCard interface usage. The IP Core needs to be downloaded from: http://www.slscorp.com/ip-cores/memory/sd-host-controller.html
