Following amendments to the Swiss Energy Ordinance, energy labelling for televisions was made mandatory on 1st January 2012.
The updates are based on the EU Energy Labelling Directive (2010/30/EC).
Other electronic devices to be affected by the updates include refrigerators, freezers, washing machines and dishwashers.
All new requirements entered into force also on the 1st January 2012.
Any devices that do not comply with the updated requirements may still be put on the market in Switzerland for up to six months and be sold during a two-year period, starting on the 1st January 2012.
