Programmable magnetic induction radio IC

Hi all!

I am looking for some programmable radio ICs based on magnetic induction. Technology similar to RFID, but this is two-way active transmission. Such technology is used by Freelinc:

http://www.freelinc.com/downloads/FreeLinc%20NFMI%20White%20Paper.pdf

In one paper I read:

"We implemented the WBAN protocol on the magnetic induction radio IC, which is designed by NXP Semiconductors."

However, NXP emailed me back, that they do not develop this line of programmable ICs any more. As in aforementioned paper, I would like to implement own MAC protocol (similar to MAC of 802.15.4) on radio devices using magnetic induction as a physical basis for transmission.

I am beginner in this area, so please forgive me if my questions are silly...

Best regards,

Kamil
