Load Google Translate Hi,
I am looking for small 8 pin connectors - think the size of micro USB. I will need to run a mix of audio, power and data signals through. I would need both options for attaching on cords as well as on PCBA. Size is important - any ideas guys?
Dear Tino,
I saw your message here this morning and noticed that no one had replied. Unforunately, our tech team has never seen a connector like what you describe. Our closest offering would be an 8-pin Mini-DIN connector, but that is much larger than a micro USB. If it is of any help, our free engineering drawing download shows the exact dimensions of an 8-pin Mini-DIN connector for reference.
I hope someone else can give you a better answer! I look forward to discovering a connector that meets your needs.
Thanks,
Dave
What type of power? DC?
The audio and data signal lines will most likely interfere with each other, as well as absorb noise from the power lines.
If signal integrity is not a concern, anything would work. A 9-pin din plug. Or build your own cable using 8 conductor CPC connectors and shielded cables.
I do a lot with CNC equipment, where signal integrity is imperative.
I am always looking for an alternative to what I use. (I need something similar to you.) From my experience, placing all those lines together will cause issues. I had a problem with the 60Hz from AC power, and had to use differential cable drivers to protect the signal. My machines wen from cutting ovals to the proper circles.
