Load Google Translate Hi - someone at my hackerspace is interested in developing a microcontroller based system which can transfer photos to a portable printer. The printer accepts photos via Bluetooth OBEX OPP.
Does anyone know of any modules that support such a profile?
I could only find simple serial (SPP) modules thus far. Open to any microcontroller platforms.
Thanks,
Drew
Try an Android phone first. I am curious to see it it would work out ok.
Aside from that, many of the standard bluetooth modules support those protocols. Try BestBuy or TigerDirect.

Hi - yeah, I think an Android would be an option though I'm not sure if he has a smartphone. The Bluetooth USB adapters, as well as the WiFi models, are tempting cheap solutions for an embedded project. However, I think the trouble is the microcontroller would have to both have USB host capability and have driver support. I would think a full-blown embedded Linux system like a Beagle would be needed to have a chance for the drivers.
Thanks,
Drew
Actually, you got me thinking and realized that while the classic Beagle is still pretty pricey, the Beagle Bone is only $89. It runs Angstrom Linux so there might be a shot of a getting an inexpensive USB bluetooth adapter to work.
