    Hi Sager,

Hands down, my i-Phone.  I am not a gadget person, but that phone is glued to me every waking moment of my life.  No matter what city I am in, I know my way around town by car, foot or bike.  I know where to eat, where my friends are and what my travel itinerary is.  I never miss a school function, always have the snacks and pick up the kids on time.  I know exactly how fast (or slow) I am running, how many miles I biked and how to get out of the woods to a main road.  I keep up with my busy friends and family via texts and facebook and generally feel more connected to everyone I care about.  I travel more, do more and plan more because I have the tools to stay organized and informed.

I would have to say the advent of the Logic Chip, in particular the 74 series.

And the LED is an endless source of joy and happy memories for me also, in fact I stand by the axiom that a project cannot have "too many" LEDs.

I equate them equally as Life Changing products.

the Reason; it brought into a Physical reality, the things that I knew and understood as a child, and allowed me an opportunity to explain these things to my parents, needless to say it didn`t work, but my friends dad (an electronics engineer and inventor (worth millions now!)), understood me just fine.

so yeah, really life Changing for me, I still use the stuff now

    the 40xx Logic Series , the 68XXX series , the STM32 series .

My Android Phone and most of Qualcomm's stuff .

Recently i have been doing some audio stuff and apparently , one cannot have too many operations . Pun Intended .

Okay , but , i love LED's most and my ultimate love are voltage regulators , i don't know why , they just fill a void everytime i find something missing out .

I would have to say my first Android phone, the Evo 4G.

I still have it, and use it for everything. From finding a restaurant to developing projects.

    Truly life changing.

I love my Android (Samsung Galaxy SII) for being able quickly tap into the Internet wherever I go, and my microcontrollers for allowing me to build whatever I can dream up (primarily Arduino in the past year).

    ●  What changed everything for me was the introduction to technology that is quite old, lathes and mills.
Learning to be a machinist changed how I look at the world. Knowing I could make anything opened up the flood gates of ideas. The first being to turn my manual machines into computer-controlled ones, CNC.
(Oddly enough, I used the very same manual-machines to make all the components used in their CNC conversion.)

From there I learned more about stepper and servo motor control, which led to designing my own controllers. And an introduction to ARM processors. (I still prefer PICs over ARM.)

    ● My life-changing event had a ripple effect.

Over the years, I used the same equipment to make countless new products as well as sell copies of my CNC machinery. Which, undoubtedly, changed other people's lives. Some of the people who bought CNC gear from me make superchargers, model toys, yo-yos, gun parts, and most recently, duck-calls. Each of these people started companies and are happy with their product output. (Apparently the duck-call business is worth thousands.)

    ●  Software also had a major influence.
    - Solidworks and Autocad brought me from paper to virtual 3D models.
    - MultiSim has allowed me to build and simulate circuits rapidly. Almost every single time, the real-world circuit behaved like the SIM model.

Many consumer products changed my life, as I see it has done for others. PCs, mp3 players, NAS, USB thumb drivers, and the XBOX 360 to name a few.

I will have to also agree with the rest of the commenters here; a smartphone definitely changed everything. My first one being a Treo 300, but my first amazing phone experience goes to the Palm pre. To spout off the functionality is redundant. I will just say, it is one of my most-used tools.

Originally it was my iPhone, or, actually some of the better apps for my iPhone. In a world where the newspaper headlines too often make you think "ugh, look at the terrible things humans can do" apps such as MusicID where you can identify (as well as purchase and download) songs simply by letting the app listen to a few notes then quickly search and identify what you are listening to is one of those "Wow, look at the great things humans can do" moments.

I am also getting very found of my Motorola Xoom Android tablet. I hate to say this but the only thing standing in the way of it supplanting my laptop is a suite of Microsoft Office tools ( I know, Microsoft software on a Android isn't going to happen).
