Challenge. automatic Lathe.

Hi, curently my father and I work on a lathe (woodturning) and the lathe was modded to copy pieces with a kind of modded skillsaw. The cnc project give us the idea that it's probably possible to do an DIY automatic lathe. Any Ideas??? That could be a nice chalenge.

Hi,

Got CNC there is One food starring point.
Check with the cnczone.com site, there are metal/wood lathes and routers.
Some are pro machines but also guides got DIY or conversion got non CNC to CNC.

I can say there are tons of information on there bit check for yourself.

I had a similar idea some years ago. I ended up making a CNC lathe, which I now sell at Gunhead.com

In fact, I have recently release Version 2 of my lathe. Take a look.

Here is a video from one of my customers who does a lot of wood work. (Using a Version 2)
