They delete you, because they do not like you

    Our group was also deleted:

    http://www.element-14.com/community/groups/motion-control

I restored it. Luckily, it had no messages initially. So, only the list of 3 members at the time was lost. One of those members was me.

The person, who did the deletion was perhaps this one:

    Nicole Larson

I sent her a question for reasons for deletion. But she never replied.

I presume they occasionally delete a group, because they do not like you for some reason.

Maybe you are a competitor for some important supplier of Fanell...

Maybe you said unfavourable things about that competitor...

Maybe farnell did not like what you wrote in the description of the group...

Your group may not have gone completely. If it had documents, or messages, they may have moved them somehwere. You may find them through "your stuff" of your profile... Or some other type of search, if you remember the former content.

When you restore the group, make sure to collect those scattered pieces, move them back into the group.

Re: They delete you, because they do not like you

    Hi there Andrew,

I noticed your post earlier today and wanted to let you know why we deleted your group.  We try to tidy the groups every once in a while because many new groups are being created everyday and we've noticed that it becomes difficult for users to sort through hundreds of groups.

In an effort to make it easier for a user to navigate the groups list - once in a while we take stock of the groups that have very little content and activity, and very small member base and delete them.  Unfortunately, you were a part of the first phase of the group clean up project and you weren't given a warning before we deleted.  We now have a process that we contact group owners prior to deleting their group so they have an opportunity to generate content/activity or move their content before we delete it from the community.

Again, want to appologize for removal of your group without contacting you first. I'm really glad that you decided to recreate the group as I can see it's growing in membership!

    Best of Luck!

    Nicole

    Delete something useless and duplicates

A while ago I found among your groups quite a few duplicates.

For example I remember to be a topic on power supplies to have been duplicated in at least 2 groups.

Perhaps I even posted a suggestion in some of the groups to merge them.

Usefulness of a group does not relate to its activity. It may well be empty, but it may still be a major topic by name.

    Hi Andrew,

Good point!  Research suggests that many more users are consumers of content instead of contributors.  Also, I like your idea about merging two similar groups as well.  Any groups beside Power Supplies that you think would be a good fit to merge?

    Thanks again for your feedback!

    Nicole
