Load Google Translate From crop rotation to organic farming practices, local farmers are always interested in learning the latest agricultural practices. The trouble is how to transfer this information in a language and medium they can understand. And more important, convince them to adopt better farming practices.
Using cost-realistic technologies such as TVs, DVD players, and camcorders, new company, Digital Green cultivates a hub-and spoke-based ecosystem of educational, entrepreneurial, and entertaining content.
Digital Green's work takes agricultural extension - or farmer education - programmes to new levels. Incubated at Microsoft Research India, Digital Green is an independent NGO, which partners with other organisations, universities, governments, and NGOs across South Asia and Africa.
Hi Alistair,
Is it only for information, or is there any activity associated with this post.
In case there is activity, please let me know of how to be a part of it.
Hi Thomas,
This is information from a conference our guys were at in Bangalore last week on emerging technologies. It is to try provoke discussion in the electronics industry and keep people updated with the latest innovations. You can comment on the story here if you wish, or post your own news on embedded innovation. I think you may be thinking of the RoadTest group?
Hi Alistair,
Thanks for your info.
I was looking forward to having some info on organic farming, or the agency that promotes organic farming.
This is a sensitive issue, as the uncontrolled use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides/weedicides have at some places contaminated even the ground water, which is the only source of drinking water in villages.
In cities, you may buy bottled mineral water or process using electrical appliances like water-filter and reverse-osmosis, as electricity is available on priority.
What if; we are in a village, where there is scarcity of electricity and the ground water (wells) contaminated.
Hi Thomas,
Yes, it's a subject I am very interested in also. I hopefully will have a video of the presentation including more details later
Hi Alistair,
Waiting for some information on EMTech.
