in fact Nanotechnology is the jargon in semiconductor industry too. For example, engineers in semiconductor industry will talk about the Technology node such as 22nm, 45nm ,65nm and 90nm which represent the channel length of the transistors. Also the design rules and DFM (Design for Manufacturing)
In addition, in area of Failure Analysis in semiconductor, they will talk about nanoprobing which is the latest technique doing FA analysis on a silicon sample.
Thus from all these examples, you will realise that in fact, the word "Nano" is actually oftenly used.
