I was wondering how good the 9.0 program was

I used to use the Free version on my pc's at home, but changed it for the new Microsoft one. Had no problem with AVG though.

AVG can quietly work in the background and is easy to set up/use.

Install, run and leave it once set up

This A-List award winners list is worth a look at PC Pro;

They've previously said that the Microsoft Security Essentials app (free) is worth a look & provides pretty decent levels of security.
