Hi,
I use Element-14 for everything. I currently deal with LED based products and designs. But Element-14 web site is always on in my browser and refresh the page offently ( in the meantime, is it possible to auto-refresh the main page for a predefined time interval so that we have not refresh it manually ? ) and fallow the new mew messages. I always think Element-14 is a rapidly growing community and more over like a living body. We can meet experts in every catagory and expert members who are really keen on helping and sharing their knowledge with the other members. So, I always find what i am looking for in here.
Roadtest is just a great group for the members and gives us big opportunities by providing us great hardwares. But for me, Roadtest is just one of the reasons to visit Element-14. there is more than Roadtest in here.
Finally, Element-14 changed my life. And it shines more everyday.
I forgot to mention why i would like to win Hawkboard ![]()
Because i always like to give a try to new technologies that i have never given a try before, like a hawkboard which contains many peripherals on it as Ethernet, Usb and Video. Would i buy a hawkboard now ? Not now, but yes in the near future.

I like reading Cabe's fun little question threads.
As for what I'd do with the Hawkboard, that's Top Secret! ![]()
Hi Christy,
Ok, what is element-14 for me?
I like the concept of a technical forum where technical people around the world can share idea's and ask questions. I find myself in the position that I have to broaden my knowledge base to give added value to me products. It is the only way to stay competitive in this global market. Element-14 helps me on this.
The second reason for me to keep coming back is the personal interest in electronics. I like to see more technical papers from members which will be stored in a Wikipedia form to start to develop a firm knowledge base on technology and components. I like to idea of inviting members to share background information on their experience and success stories. I don't see a problem in collaborating with the non-professional electronic community because everyone who works in the electronic industry started at home building the circuits other people suggested. A nice example of a company which is successful because of this approach is Microchip. Their products, hardware and software examples are readily available for the market and this is a win-win situation.
Continue the sucess of element-14 and together we can amplify the buzz !
Best regards, Enrico Migchels
Social networking for "technical stuff" seems to be broken. There are occasional technical groups on more traditional networking sites, but they tend to get very little traffic. There are occasional forums from vendors or for specific products, but they tend to be very narrowly focused. There are occasional mailing lists that sometimes hit the breadth of discussion I'd like to see, but they're very rare. The trade magazines are in trouble (along with the rest of the paper publishing businesses) and are still struggling with how to re-invent themselves.
I'm hoping that the broad base of element14, and its distributer-based funding, will result in a sort of social networking site for the "Renaissance Technical Person."
Hi,
Element 14 - for me - The Electronics Forum, linked with the power of a worldwide leader in electronics distribution, with a unique feature - Road Test, a chance to try new products or, at least, to read real reviews.
Why to win?
You've called "the Draw", no?
Why to win a draw?
I use element-14 to keep in touch with the latest technology updates and trends .
Also to follow the Expert section to learn more.
But also the Road test group which I find very good and interesting .
Finally, Element-14 have changed my life and I am looking forward to every new visit.
I have also joined the Facebook and Linkedin group and follows element 14 on twitter.
The Hawkboard will give me a great opportunity to get inside this technology
and a great chance to enhance my knowledge. I can not wait to get started ![]()
Hi,
In my opinion element-14 is fastest growing and developed electronics website I've ever seen.
Road test group which is attractive and quite new idea, allow us to keep in touch with the latest technology,
articles and reviews are interesting. One other thing is also innovative, element-14 is one place
where all manufactures can place information about owns products this is very important for us.
Really excellent work!
Best regards,
Karol Bialek
This website is a great source of information and the place to go to find out what's new. My favorite part would have to be the road tests ... getting the opportunity to try out the latest tools, etc.
Thanks!
GMB
I find it very hard to vote for any one part of this site as it offers so much help support and information on everything to do with Electronics.
The Roadtest section certainly offers the chance to keep up to date with the latest on the market tools and experimental equipment.
Thanks to all of you for telling us what you like about element14! If there are things you would still like to tell us, including areas for improvement or suggestions to make element14 better meet your needs, please visit the Feedback and Support area!
