element14’s Raspberry Pi Webinar “Industrial uses for the Raspberry Pi with Eben Upton” now available to view

element14.com, the community for engineers, has published a new webinar entitled ‘Powered by Raspberry Pi - Industrial uses for the Raspberry Pi with Eben Upton’ for customers building the Raspberry Pi into industrial and professional applications.

Eben Upton, CEO of Raspberry Pi Trading joined the element14.com team to talk to customers about the Raspberry Pi and its use in an industrial context. The webinar follows the launch of the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ which has been developed with professional use in mind.

The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+, built on a new quad-core Broadcom BCM2837 64-bit application processor running at 1.4GHz, is over 15% faster than the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B, delivering increased performance for professional and maker users. Further enhancements address the needs of the growing professional design market using the board as an embedded device, including dual-band wireless LAN, I, improved thermal management, faster ethernet and Power over Ethernet (PoE) enabled RJ45 providing PoE support via a new PoE HAT. The wireless subsystem also comes with modular compliance certification, which allows the board to be designed into end products with significantly reduced requirements for wireless compliance testing, improving both cost and time to market.

Also included in the webinar is a ‘Powered by Raspberry Pi’ success story. The team from the AirNodes IoT Design House share their experience of designing ’Anna’ the Smart Mirror installed in prestigious hotels in France including the K2 Palace, Courchevel and Hotel Pashmina, Val Thorens.

The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ is available to buy from Farnell element14 in Europe, Newark element14 in North America and element14 in Asia Pacific.
