Farnell element14 features latest solutions for IIoT developers at SidO 2017

SIdO Exhbition: The Intelligent Internet of Things Showroom Stand 315, Lyon, France, 5-6 April 2017

Silicon Labs Thunderboard

At SIdO 2017, Farnell element14, The Development Distributor, will showcase a number of major new advancements in its range of hardware and software solutions targeted at developers of IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) products.

Silicon Labs Thunderboard-React kit sensor to cloud connectivity

ThunderBoard-React is a cloud-connected, Bluetooth® Smart-enabled, sensor-driven platform that enables customers to demonstrate, evaluate and develop their own unique applications. It uses Silicon Labs’ BGM111 Bluetooth Smart module as a wireless system-on-a-chip (SoC) to collect various sensor data and deliver it to the cloud through Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)-enabled iOS/Android mobile apps, which in turn connect to a cloud-based multi-client, real-time synchronisation database.

The mobile app seamlessly communicates between the ThunderBoard and the cloud database to visualise the collected sensor data or to control the LED states on the ThunderBoard-React hardware. Individual components of the ThunderBoard-React can be easily integrated and modified in order to add BLE-to-cloud connectivity for a user’s particular application.

TinyTILE board for IoT designs

The tinyTILE, created in partnership with Intel, is based on the Intel Curie Module and is an ideal board for applications in wearable designs and IoT. Ideal for consumer and industrial designs, this low-power board is ideal for ‘always on’ applications.

Farnell element14 will showcase many other products at SIdO 2017, such as Tektronix RSA306B, NXP hexiwear, CodeBug, WaRP7 and the Raspberry Pi 3.

Farnell element14 works with start-ups, engineering design houses and semiconductor manufacturers to support the design and production of new products, development kits and single-board computers. At the SIdO exhibition, Farnell element14 will show the services it can provide to customers of all sizes to help bring their products to market. These include an exclusive customisation programme that is helping start-ups and engineering design houses to benefit from the increasingly high performance, affordable price point and speed to market associated with using standard boards, whilst providing flexibility of form factor and key elements to suit customers’ individual requirements.
