Farnell, an Avnet Company and global distributor of electronic components, products and solutions, has re-launched its popular e-Tech Journal with a brand new look. The online journal, which has been enjoyed by engineers across the globe for over 10 years, returns with the first issue focusing on ‘Tomorrow’s Wireless Technology Today’.

The Tech Journal provides in-depth technical insight into new technologies, along with analysis and explanations from suppliers, industry experts, and Farnell engineers on key trends shaping today's electronics industry.

Issue 1 of the newly revamped journal takes readers into the world of Wireless Connectivity Solutions. Over the past few years, the wireless market has been booming as the number of wireless devices transferring data has grown exponentially. As a key enabler of the Internet of Things (IoT), the rise in interconnected devices is driving demand for low power, low cost wireless solutions that enable applications never previously possible.

Cliff Ortmeyer, Global Head of Technical Marketing at Farnell, and Editor of the e-Tech Journal, said: “Our e-Tech Journal has been a popular feature within the engineering community for several years now and, after a short hiatus, we’re delighted to be bringing it back with new and improved features and layout.

“Farnell endeavours to support its customers not just through first-class distribution services but also by ensuring engineers have cutting-edge industry trends and insights at their fingertips. The e-Tech Journal is just one of a vast range of free content available from Farnell to help support engineers on their journey, we hope they’re as excited as we are about the Journal being back in publication.”

The e-Tech Journal is free to download and the first edition covers several hot topics including:

·       Bluetooth: the smart choice for Industrial IoT.
·       What is 5G? Everything you need to know.
·       Facilitating wireless charging in thin and compact devices.
·       IoT wireless network protocols.
·       Wireless technology for every application.

Farnell’s Tech Journal, is now available as a free download here, and readers can already look forward to the second issue which will focus on Power Management and Protection, due in May.
