Newark element14 Advances New Medical Technology Products with Massachusetts Incubator

Partnership enables Newark element14 to provide emerging medical startups with the support they need for future breakthroughs

Newark element14, the Development Distributor, is making its vast line card of electronics products and technological expertise available to startup companies working to create future medical breakthroughs. The companies are all part of the Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center (M2D2), an incubator supporting medical startups through the University of Massachusetts.

In addition to sponsoring M2D2, Newark element14 will share its expertise with the dozens of emerging medical startups in the incubator, enabling them to discover the best components for their projects and facilitate success. The partnership marks Newark element14’s first incubator sponsorship and reinforces the company’s commitment to supporting technological advancement.

“As the Development Distributor, our mission is to help projects of all shapes and sizes come to life,” said Dan Hill, President of Newark element14. “We are incredibly proud to bring our expertise to these emerging startup companies and ensure they have the tools they need to build projects with a purpose and reach their goals.”

Newark element14 currently supplies test equipment, electronic components and value added services to the University of Massachusetts system. Through M2D2, startups have access to the resources at the incubator’s three locations, including the engineering and business resources at the two UMass Lowell locations and the clinical feedback and clinical trials at UMass Medical School in Worcester. Now thanks to this new partnership, the startups have access to Newark element14 experts to help advance medical technology.

“We are pleased to welcome Newark to the M2D2 community as a corporate sponsor of the program. Our early-stage startups are working hard to move their inventions toward commercialization and they will gain a great deal by interacting with and learning from Newark experts,” said Stephen McCarthy, founder and director of M2D2.

The startups participating in M2D2 range from a company working on a prevention for head and neck cancer, to a point of consumption allergen detector, and a type 2 diabetes technology-alternative to bariatric surgery. Newark element14’s experts will be working with many of these companies to make sure they have everything they need to succeed
