Forget Me Not - IQU

IQU is an entry in the Forget-Me-Not design challenge aimed at demonstrating Enocean sensors and how easy they are to use. The project intro is here. I have found the Enocean sensors to be most impressive in wireless sensing, smaller than I expected and powered only by small power scavenging devices. There is a lot of software available to monitor these sensors, but this project demonstrates how easy it is to program your own applications to use these sensors. The sensors essentially send wir ...
IQU - Door Approach Video Capture Demonstration                   This is an update to the IQU project entered in the Forget Me Not Design challenge showing a Raspberry Pi with Pi-Cam capturing video of my walkway as I approach the door. The Pi-Cam is mounted in a bay window adjacent to the door. I am using a mirror so the Pi-Cam can take some video of itself to show where it is. Note, you can see the red ...
This is an update to the IQU project entered in the Forget Me Not Design challenge showing a STM320U sensor mounted on a window frame to detect when the window is open. I mounted an STM320U on one of the window frames in my house that is prone to letting rain in when it is windy. The sensor is enclosed in a white case, but the red solar cell cannot be covered without killing its power scavenging capability. I mounted a corresponding magnet on the window - (it is not covered with white for this v ...
This is an update to my Forget Me Not Design Challenge project. It is delayed because of a week lost to a trip, two weekends lost to softball tournaments, half a dozen hockey games and the process of landing a new job. Also, I am still struggling to get the parts I need, but I have enough to show some progress. Enocean provides fairly straightforward software for monitoring their sensors and several of the contestants have provided excellent instructions on how to get such systems working with ...
Cadsoft Eagle was included in the Forget Me Not contestant kit so I wanted to showcase it being used to design a circuit board for this challenge. The demo is in the form of a narrated slide show because I can't talk fast enough to keep up with a real time video of the design process. Although the presentation might be used as a tutorial, it is intended more to show the steps in a typical design process and provide a feel for the amount of effort needed to design a schematic and a PCB. I have ...

IQU - Introduction & Objectives The Forget Me Not Design Challenge provides an awesome kit to learn about EnOcean in conjunction with the new Raspberry Pi. Other sponsors include Tektronix, who is supplying a TBS1000B-EDU oscilloscope to 15 contestants and Element 14 who is supplying a Cadsoft license and a $500 voucher for parts. I don't need to explain to this community just how phenomenal this kit is, but I am certainly very impressed with the generosity of the sponsors and I feel exce ...
