Challengers! The judging deadline has now passed - thank you so much to everyone who took part!   If you're not finished yet, I'd still love to be able to follow the progress on your amazing projects. My project, LaserScope Music is also not yet complete - but you'll be able to continue to follow it here on the element14 Community, as well as at Music Tech Fest in Berlin.   Speaking of Music Tech Fest... Ben Heck is going to be there with us! http://musictechfest.net/ben-heck ...
Hey challengers!   How are your projects going? With just over 1 full week left I expect some of you are nearing a point of completion now.   I just wanted to give you a little preview of what Music Tech Fest Berlin will be like - don't forget that the 1st place prize is a trip to Berlin to join us at the festival, where you'll be invited to present your project on the main festival stage!     Who's feeling pumped? Are you ready? I sure am.   luiszayas carmelito ...
Hi friends! How are your projects going?   I'm attending a BeagleBone-based musical accessibility hackathon this weekend, and will be shooting some footage of the hacks & projects people build for my next update video- should be a good one!   In the meantime I wanted to post a little update about LaserScope Music. I've been spending a lot of time sat watching the output of my Puredata patches on an oscilloscope to make sure I'm getting the desired effect within the sound waves th ...
Hey everyone! I hope your projects are coming along alright. Don't forget that you can get in touch with me if you have any questions or need a bit of help with something.   I recently got to spend a little time learning about one of our challengers' projects, whilst a version of it was on show at TEDx Teen in London. Check out the video below to see how it went     Coming up in the next episode, you can see my progress on my own project, LaserScope Music. So far I have not ...
Hey everybody!   I hope everyone's projects are starting to get off the ground - and don't forget that you can reach out to me with any questions that you have. I just wanted to make a post to discuss the project that I'm going to work on during the challenge...   Also - to all of our challengers, feel free to use my project outline as a bit of a template if you've not posted yours yet. Don't forget that each project needs at least 15 blog posts (which averages out at 1 for each week ...
I collected my challenger kit from the parcel office today, and decided to do an unboxing video (with a little help from a slithery friend...)   I'll be doing a series of videos during the course of the challenge, so let me know if you have any particular questions or want tips on something and I'll try and cover those things in one of the upcoming episodes.   Enjoy! ...
Season's greetings, my friends! The suspense is killing me - I'm away for a couple of days for Christmas and I got a notification that my Challenger Kit is there waiting to be collected from the parcel office when I get back! If you're one of the selected challengers, your kit should be with you shortly also, and we can get this party started. I'll post an unboxing video once I'm back home in a few days.   Also, don't forget that you don't have to be one of the selected challengers who wil ...
Hi everybody, I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself, as I'll be around here a lot during the element14 Music Tech Challenge! My name is Adam John Williams. I'm a London-based musician, artist & creative technologist, as well as director of the 24-hour Hack Camp at Music Tech Fest. Music hacking and other related activities seem to take up the majority of my life these days - a fact that I'm quite happy about - so when this new element14 Design Challenge came up I was ...
