Hello,   Its been some time since the last update to be exact 2 weeks. Lots of progress and some roadblocks that I will be discussing later on.   First for Time line of Stage 3: Stage 3: Interfacing Prerequisite for this stage is the arrival of all Element14 ordered material on-time Wiring Up Connect all the Shields and test individual interfaces Check for Capacitive Touch sensitivity and user interface using cap-sense interface prepared earlier Remaining Software trials Check fo ...
Hello everyone, Lots of progress this week in terms of hardware and software. Most of the parts that I disused in the earlier post have now been interfaced and working in software.   Here is how DAS looks now with respect to its block diagram: There are two shields on top of the Pioneer kit: 1. Arduino GSM Shield on the Top 2. Logging Shield below it on top of Pioneer Kit.   Here is a shot of the top Shield removed: It also shows the modifications done on the Logging shield ...
I have finalized on the Pinning and port configuration of the DAS project. As of now I am able to interface the following parts: 1. LCD - Nokia 5110 over SPI (UDB based) 2. SD Card on the Adafruit Logging Shield on SPI (UDB Based) 3. RTC DS1307 on Adafruit Logging Shield on I2C (SCB Based) 4. LDR Sensor using ADC 5. Glass Break Sensor using OpAmp block (This part would be an emulated version as I could not get the actual part) 6. Door Knob CapSense 7. 3 CapSense Buttons using the Existin ...
The DAS projects uses an LDR to provide a ambient light feedback. This feedback is used to detect night and day time differences. This time the LCD came in handy to display the results of the conversion. Although initially there was a issue that the values were in reverse. In order to sense the LDR properly it needed to be powered up or biased with a current source. To make that we would need a pull-up. The max value this particular LDR VT90N1 could take was 200k while light is completely blo ...
The Nokia LCD in now working with the PSoC4 Pioneer Kit using the UDB based SPI interface. There was a slight change needed to help interface the SDcard also to this interface. Here is what it came to finally: The additional 'OR' with the control helps to disable the SS line of the LCD. By setting the SS_Reg [Control_0] to 1 the OR gate would keep the SS pin of the LCD high permanently, even when the internal UDB SPI pin toggles. Only when this bit in the SS_Reg is made low the toggles fr ...
Lots of hurdles and finally success . This the primary target was to make the wake-up using watch dog timer work and have the Nokia LCD working. Still need to implement the Fonts to draw on the screen. Quick snapshot of the current design:   Issues:  Watch dog Wakeup: Issue2 - Detail The problem was that DAS needs to wake up from Deep Sleep mode with watchdog interrupt in case there are no other interrupt sources pending to do the sensor scanning functions. Additionally the soft ...
It was a bit late for Last weeks updates, this was due to some blocking caused by the Watchdog issues.   Here is the Timeline: Stage 2: Ordering & Start-up Prerequisite for this stage is the availability of the PSoC4 Pioneer kit Placed order – Need to track Received First lot of the Components - Done PIR Sensor is pending Start-up Software Basic framework to perform the application development Need to Sort out the watchdog issue for wakeup cycle + reset Need to assemble ...
There has been some more progress on the DAS project with the Stage 1 completed and order placed on Element 14 side.   Here are the updates: Stage 1: Preparation - Complete Download necessary software + Datasheets - Complete Downloaded schematics and Family datasheet for PSoC 4200 All Manual and Appnotes downloaded - Getting sleep reading them though Development Suit - Partially complete but the rest would be helpful for the community Installed PSoC Creator 3 Need to check for Keil a ...
I have some updates on what was achieved in this week. Some risks loom large. However its Deepawali folks so Enjoy!   Here is the progress so far on the first stage of the project:   Stage 1: Preparation Download necessary software + Datasheets - Complete Downloaded schematics and Family datasheet for PSoC 4200 All Manual and Appnotes downloaded - Getting sleep reading them though Development Suit - Partially complete but the rest would be helpful for the community Installed PSoC C ...
Last week, I got a call from Element14 that my idea was selected for the Road-test on the PSoC 4 Pioneer kit in Smarter Life Challenge. This was a pleasant surprise for a weekend to begin. Thanks to Element14, Cypress and Cadsoft for selecting the DAS project.   Over the last two days I have tired to construct a basic plan for the development of the DAS project. It includes the possible risks in the development due to delivery delays for the kits and the materials that I am about to order. ...
