I'd like to say this project is finished, however, I cannot.  The whole month of March I was working on field experiments for work, and I just got back home Saturday. To add to the tragedy, my older dog passed away yesterday, and this project was targeted for her. RIP Penny. I'm finding out about BLE more and more each week.  I didn't realize RPi was BLE or Arduino MKR WIFI 1010 was BLE. Updating the firmware on the Arduino MKR WIFI 1010, gave me a new platform to play with the RSL10. I have a feature for the project where one BLE device recognizes another when in proximity.  The BLE device will periodically scan for other BLE devices in the area and act on the result. I spent many hours this week learning about BLE.  I've never used any BLE devices in projects before, so I needed to get up to date. I found some good training videos online. I started the first prototype of the Smart Pet Collar. First I had to make a solid model of the actual parts. The blue section is the main PCB and components, The yellow box is the 10-pin J-Link connector. The green section is for the battery, and the silver and violet section is the NFC antenna. So, while I'm waiting for hardware to arrive, I will ponder some of the project objectives and challenges. 1) I'm making a pet collar, so I need a pet collar and a way to attach the board to it.  This will require a 3D print and some board measurements. 2) To send data to the cloud, the unit currently uses an App on a phone, I'll need to do some range testing on the board and maybe some antenna mods. 3) I've downloaded documentation and code examples from hackster.io and developer.atmosp ...
