Cheers Dab, I was trying really hard to provide a better demo but concluded it was better to strip the car down and built it back up. Definately going to be better than V1!

The Cel does have an upgrade kit for their dual extruder but that's over twice the cost of the single head. The people who've upgrade also recommended keeping the single head for quality. So for me a single one to replace the one I broke.

I am aware of COAP but not looked at it recently so perhaps time for a review.

Great idea Andy.

I never finished a build where I did not see many ways to improve upon the initial effort.

Most applications require a number of use and upgrade cycles before the end product reaches a refined level of optimization.

In every design, you make assumptions based upon your initial interpretation of the requirements. As you go through the testing process you get a better understanding of what changes would improve the various aspects of the project.

On those occasions where I had chances to go through a number of improvement cycles, the resulting system was always much better.

So I look forward to seeing what you can do with your basic build.

Very nice to see this go on.

Maybe it is time for a new printer head?? Time to upgrade? Maybe that is not possible.

Just watched an VLOG about COAP. Basically it might be a replacement for MQTT on your project. You do not care about QoS and buffering commands. You are sending a message straight to the car with COAP and not a broker.

Car V1 was an ok prototype and allowed me to understand the Furby and motors. It's been good to pick it apart and understand what worked well and what needs improvement.

The block UI was something I'd always planned to have but as that was a big software component I intentionally did not include that in my proposal.

Great interview.

I really enjoyed watching this project come together.

I was very impressed with the overall design and implementation.

I got to see the new technology interface with the old to result in a nice upgraded device with both old charm and new capability.

This was a very interesting project from the application stage right through to the completed item.

The goals weren't overstated, and the user interface is simple and effective.

The efforts to ensure it could be returned to the way it was previously was a nice touch, and it fitted the theme of Upcycling very well.

Congratulations a well deserved win, and a very useful addtion.

Great summary of a great project. The old and new parts blend very well. Having a programmable brain like an Edison in a device like this does mean that you can expand its capabilities.

I do like Node-Red and the ability it gives to wire things flexibly. If you can build your own components in NodeJS then you can extend on that giving a very powerful framework. I'm fairly sure both tools have options for parsing RSS.
