Thanks for your feedback, All of this is very new to me, But I have a few projects I am willing to start but I have to get my head around all these new terminology, and trying to figure out what equipment to buy.I know the dimensions of the sheet I have to cut and carve small laser dots on, But the equipment to cut the size is what gets me, Also, I have to be able to cut and carve laser dots on the sheet, Can one machine achieve this purpose?   Bhim ...

We need your help

Guess what! we have formed a team, developed a plan, wrote the project, registered it in European "Meet and CODE" challenge and won!  Project's name is "Updated Heritage Promotion" and it seems to be so appreciated that it was mentioned in the European Commission communique : https://ec.europa.eu/digital-single-market/en

Help with switches chip

Posted by abh May 7, 2018
Hi Anyone can help me with my idea... I'm working on a raspberry pi gameboy sp pcb And I want to add headphone jack with this adapter   And i have a few questions i want the speaker working without the headphone jack adapter plugged. And if I plug the adapter shut speaker off and the headphone jack working can I make it with normal wiring?   I do my researches and that what I found Cbt3244a bus chip its work as I want, but it’s manual switch with push button I want that ch ...
I would like to assemble a 12v DC-DC voltage regulator to charge a few 12v lead acid batteries laying around. I have come across this circuit (here is the link, Lead Acid Battery Charger Circuit Diagram and Its Working ,but I have also added a picture) ,but I unfortunately do not have any BC547 transistors. I have been told that the main difference between all transistors is their impedance in ohms and voltage limit between the gate drain and source. What I am asking is if there is any simple wa ...
I have a 3.5mm headphone jack attached to a bluetooth module with both right and left channels being occupied (also ground of course). The Li-Po battery that powers the module takes 5v from usb directly to charge it. What I want to do is be able to charge the battery through the headphone jack when the module is turned off. I thought of using a diode between the jack and battery along the batterie's 5v rail to keep the flow from the battery away from whatever channel it was sharing with the modu ...

Capacitor question

Posted by tel19 Sep 9, 2016
I am trying to diagnose the problem with a Bosch cooker hood, please can someone help.   There is a capacitor across the initial mains feed which I believe is a suppression capacitor for the fan. Details on the current capacitor are:   D.E.M. 710Y2 01uF (x2) + 2.2 MOhm 2 x 0.0047uF (Y2) 250V HPF 25/085/21C   I am not convinced that this is the cause of the problem as the fan is working and not causing interference, it is the lights which have stopped working.  However, ...
Hi, one of most important data of a WiFi-device ist the sensitivity. Mostly this data determine the quality. With this (together with transmit power) one can calculate the range of a device. This data is not included in datasheet (Why? Is it to moderate? No manufacturer conceals good values.). Should be given for b, g and n at different data rates. Maybe that can be added to datasheet or published elsewhere. Thanks Friedrich ...
I am looking for an alternative to an auditory sensor that detects malfunctions in production lines. It does not have to be an auditory solution specifically, but should be a system that is generally along these lines. Any help would be much appreciated! ...

FPGA Benchmark

Posted by amgalbu Top Member Jan 1, 2016
Hello experts! I have been asked by the marketing departments to devise a benchmark to show the benefits of a FPGA-based solution instead of a CPU-based solution. The benchmark must be visually appealing (a table with the number of MFlops of the FPGA_based and CPU-based implementation is not considered sexy enough) Do you have any idea? Thanks in advance and happy new year! ...
Think you are good at schematics? Code demon and bug spotter? Then here is a site you should try: Engineering Challenge Answers & Winners | Circuit Cellar. They have a new problem each month for remainder of the year. I wanted to share here because I believe we have a talented group of people. New problem will be posted May 1. Let's see if anyone here can solve the problem.Clem ...

Servos and rotary encoders

Posted by mgm Oct 10, 2013
Hello - I'm very new to this and I don't know if I am in the right place as I am no uni student or technical whiz.   I have an N scale model railway and an Arduino Duo which I want to control 8 turnouts with 8 servos and manual control by 8 rotary encoders.   I am a rank amateur at this and I am hoping someone might be able to write me an arduino code to make this happen. Do I need a code for the servos and another code for the encoders or can they be combined, or do I just need a c ...
