There was a story in the marketing world the other week, when a high level Facebook executive predicted that within five years, around 95% of the social network's content will be video based. And I'm inclined to agree.   With that in mind,  oksbwn has really stood out in recent weeks and months thanks to the multiple series of tutorials and projects. Bikash's own YouTube channel and blog are well worth a look too, but all his good stuff is found right here on the element14 Community. ...
Wow, April went a bit quickly, didn't it? Seems like only yesterday when tonyboubady was crowned Member of the Month, and it's time already for a new sovereign.   The fine and noble gpolder caught our eye for April, not least because of his evident passion for RoadTests, but because he's been turning out a lot of excellent video content that's proving massively useful to the entire Community.   So let's hand over to Gerrit now for a few words on the wonderful world of electronics, an ...
It's never easy, selecting a Member of the Month so close to a Raspberry Pi launch, as the whole Community lights up with projects, discussions, questions, answers and more. So we've had our work cut out for March, but in the end we took a look around to see who's name seems to be appearing in every corner, both light and dark, of the Community.   One guy who you've probably seen around a lot is tonyboubady, who actually only joined us toward the back end of last year, but is already a very ...
It's that time again!   We're ready to introduce our first Member of the Month for 2016, and this time out we've been quite specific about what's brought this particular element14 Community member to our notice.   You'll undoubtedly recall that the element14 Community website -- which is a mighty digital construct! -- was updated. This isn't like updating an app on your phone though. It's mammoth task, that even we need help with. And who else do you ask around here when you need a l ...
Congratulations go out today to element14 member jack.chaney56, who's been selected as our Member of the Month for December, 2015! Jack's selection was once again thanks to a discussion held among the Top Members, who drew attention to all his excellent contributions during a month that's typically very busy. Making the effort visit, comment, blog and help out on the element14 Community when Christmas is looming is no easy task, and we appreciate how Jack -- and many of you, of course -- put ...
As part of this year's annual Community Awards we introduced a new category; Future Technology Predictions. Here we asked you not only to vote on which of our nominations you thought would dominate in 2016, but also to give us a few words about where you see the electronics world heading in the near future.   This has turned into a deliciously fascinating conversation, and it's also tied to a competition we ran alongside the awards for all those who earned the I Voted, 2015 badge. And toda ...
Although Dale and Chrystal aren't aware of this, there was a discussion behind the scenes over the last couple of weeks, in which our Top Members offered advice on who's been doing a particularly great job here on the Community.   There was a chorus of nominations for Dale, and his daughter Chrystal, of course, primarily because of their regular join efforts on some great projects. Indoctrinating the kind of youthful vigour that Chrystal's been showing is, our Top Members (and ourselves) u ...

Join me in a well-deserved round of digital applause for our latest Member of the Month here on the element14 Community, David Pettit!   He caught our eye after whipping up some great content such as his own, relay-equipped take on one of our Halloween projects in his Assembly Part 1: Building the Foginator 2000 series of blogs, he picked up a signed copy of the BeagleBone Cookbook after completing the Tuned Up! badge, and he's made some great efforts in helping out other Community members ...
element14 Community Awards Your vote is your voice!  Where did 2015 go? It's hard to believe we're deep into November already. The categories are the same as last year, with the addition of Future Technology Predictions, in which we' ...
