In the lead up to Project14 | Live Stream & Giveaway: Learn About Using the MATRIX Creator in Home Automation Projects! , the first live stream where community members present, I sat down with samreen.islam , community manager for MATRIX Labs, and hermitter , a software developer for MATRIX Labs, for a candid conversation about the Project14 program on the element14 community. Project14 will be turning 2 in April, and we will be celebrating our birthday with our first live stream and a month of robots competition where you can win robot prizes, including an app-enabled R2D2 droid, an Arduino Engineering Kit with a Marty Robot, and a $200 shopping cart. The intent of the conversation was to introduce the MATRIX Labs community to the element14 community, and the Project14 program.
The conversation included an insider perspective on how the program got started, the influence of The Ben Heck Show on the new program, how the program is distinct from the Design Challenge program, how the program supports the larger element14 community, and the continual evolution of the program, with Live Streams being the latest offering.
* Correction: In the interview I refer to 2016 Maker Faire, it was actually the 2017 Maker Faire in San Mateo where I got to hang out with Ben and Karen from The Ben Heck Show (Final season before transition to element14 presents).
** I was introduced to the folks at MATRIX Labs at CES 2019 Las Vegas where I had the foresight to include a MATRIX Creator at the booth and referred Alfred to Sean Miller's 4D IoT Game Engine Blog and upcoming element14 presents Episode 376: 4D Gaming with the MATRIX Creator (Had no idea he learned soldering from Ben Heck or that Sean Miller had been a guest prior to his Ben Heck appearance)
