Back to The Project14 homepage Project14 Home Monthly Themes Monthly Theme Poll   Sparky returns ..... Just a little fun and levity to say Happy New Year! Nothing like a cute new-born chick to welcome a new year...   I have been fooling around with magnetic levitation - will try to work it into a ...
I gathered up some toys and thought which one of you can be tech upped (is that a word?) and be useful to this contest.   The spikey fish and duck shouted pick me. Oh it will be another day for you. I had to go with the LED duck we brought at some Dollar Store a long time ago for $3:00. Can the LED lights work with the Raspberry Pi NoIR Camera Board and see in the dark. I have  one but really never put it to the test. I am using the Raspberry Pi 3 but really any Pi or LED Duck shoul ...
This entry in the Project14 Techno Toys competition is mainly to boost participation without setting the bar too high. I don't have a lot of toys around the house that I own, but I did find one that nobody laid a claim on. I call her Sparky. In this project I am taking a little wind-up hopping toy (Sparky) and retrofitting an LED powered by a power-scavenging circuit. The power-scavenging transducer is a piezo disk mounted under Sparky's feet, so when she hops, the disk gets flexed and gener ...

Also i have arduino nano and a bluetooth receiver. The remote control can be my phone, or  i have ps4 remote which is also bt. I just need to figure out if it can be connected to arduino.   Update 1: I h ...

Xylophonomatic

So, if you've seen my comment on "Give New Life to Old Toys by Turning Them Into Techno Toys! ", then you know I'm trying to turn my old Fisher Price, pull-a-tune xylophone into an object avoiding, robot xylophone. I took the advice of the people that replied to my idea and built an auto avoidance prototype first. I used one of my sons old remote control trucks that no longer worked by remote control. Here is a picture of my prototype. (I'll try and upload some videos a little later). Fo ...

Bob is a bit heavy for the mechanism, so he had to loose some girth Once I get him balanced, he should fly well. Enjoy, that's my Project 14 entry for this month....... Scott ...
