TinyDVM : Unboxing Prizes

Posted by dubbie Jan 30, 2019
I eventually got around to selecting the components that I wanted for being a $100 Prize Winner on the Test Instrumentation Project14 competition and once I had emailed the list to the correct place then they delivered very quickly.  Mostly just a collection of nuts, bolts, shrink tubing, solderless breadboards and similar just to make it easier to carry on making more robots and taking part in more Project14 Competitions. I also requested an Arduino Uno as I want to make a programmer for A ...
After having had great fun making my TinyDVM for Project 14 I was also very happy to be selected as one of the winners. The Tool Kit that was part of the prize has arrived and below is a video showing my unboxing of all the bits. I do apologise for some poor video shots and some poor lighting but the day was ending and I wanted to get it done. Christmas is coming!     I was particularly impressed with the pliers that are included as part of the Tool Kit, they truly are the biggest p ...

Back to The Project14 homepage Project14 Home Monthly Themes Monthly Theme Poll   Having decided to have a go at making a web user interface for the TinyDVM I looked at a number of web pages and example programs for the Arduino MKR 1010 Wifi, being surprised to find that there were not that many. Back to The Project14 homepage Project14 Home Monthly Themes Monthly Theme Poll   Just for fun I thought I would consider various colours to spray the 3D printed case for the TinyDVM. The 3D printed colour of white is OK but I thought it might look better with some alternative colour. So I tried yellow and black sprayed onto the first ...

Test Instrumentation Enter Your Electronics & Design Project for a chance to win a Grand Prize for Originality, a Tool Set, and a $100 Shopping Cart! Back to The Project14 homepage Project14 Home Monthly Themes Monthly Theme Poll   I used the Arduino MKR 1010 WiFi controller for the TinyDVM, mainly because I had one and I wanted to try it out. After looking at several OLED displays I settled on the SparkFun Micro OLED breakout board. It seemed to have a reasonable size display and b ...

TinyDVM#1

I wanted to do something with OLEDs (organic LEDs) as I have never used any of them and I wanted to find out more. After some research it seems that they are tiny display that are quite bright. So, after a while thinking about how they could be used to make a test instrument I decided why do make small digital volt meter (TinyDVM). Existing DVM s are cheap and accurate but it seemed worth a go at making a smaller one. I want to use Arduino and I have a 3D printer so I will try to make a complete ...
