My new Raspberry Pi 2.

Posted by suryanshdj May 26, 2015
First of all a big thanks to element14 community to recognize me and appreciate my work. And what would be better than a Raspi 2 as a token of appreciation. Thanx el14. Here's some unboxing clicks: ...
This is not a problem but a fact. And there is also a precise reason: the first model of the PI, with 256 Mb ram uses the I2C channel 0 instead of the I2C channel 1 adopted in the further versions. So, as the Microstack accelerometers is hardware compatible with the PI model A+, the software no.   The key was to discover from what was depending this issue, that is the i2C channel settings. And nothing changes if you manually enable also the channel 1 because it is question of internal sett ...
Abstract:  This ’blog is a new version of Flavia: The Free Logic Array, published July 2014.  There have been many improvements to Flavia since then, including Spartan-6 implementations for the LOGI-Pi, LOGI-Bone, and most recently for the new Papilio DUO.  A Flavia design can now include a I/O pin assignment table with optional configuration of pull-up, pull-down, and keeper circuits (only for the Papilio DUO right now).   This ’blog introduces the Papilio DUO i ...
Over the last 2 years we have created some great projects and tutorials for the Raspberry Pi GPIO. These are great for hobbyists, and for students. Here are some highlights.   Electronic Dice project including soldering and Python coding   Using the Mains Switch Widget to switch 4 mains powered appliances  Weighing scales using the Custard Pi 3   Sending an e-mail from the Raspberry Pi   Switching an appliance ON and OFF with an e-mail   Autostarting a Python p ...
Mixing and Matching Custard Pi’s   Introduction   If a particular Custard Pi does not have all the right inputs and outputs, then it’s possible to combine more than one. This post looks at the various combinations that are possible.   For more examples click here to go to the blog post   GPIO bus connection method   The various cards use different means of connecting to the Raspberry Pi GPIO and this summarised below.   SPI bus I2C bus 8 digital I/O C ...
I suppose that it is not rare that tying for a solution the approach will be installing packages on the Raspberry PI environment, check how the stuff works then abandoning the solution to move to a different approach. This usually means sudo apt-get install a certain number of packages and the related dependencies occupying storage space.   Deciding that a certain approach is not what we want we can remove the packages in the same way se installed them: $> sudo apt-get remove <pac ...
There is something that I use almost intensively on the Linux environments and after testing this feature on Pi SSH connection I have decided to make this post. Frankly I am not sure if I have find nothing about the -Y feature mentioned around Element14 because it's so obvious to be silly or it is really a very few used feature. Apologise if it is the first case   This feature has been tested with raspian wheezy on all the Raspberry PI models included the first version no more available on ...
See what can be done in only a few hours of learning:- Hi everyone, there has been a lot of speculation as to the functionality of Windows 10 on the PI2   This has focused initially on the fact it wont have a GUI display and be well rather none eventful   Well I have been playing around with this for the last couple of days and I have to say   HOW WRONG THAT THOUGHT IS !, see the above image and read on to see how I did it The Windows 10 for IOT on the Raspberry PI ...
