********************ISSUE RESOLVED. Credit to shabaz for identifying that a networking device was the issue.  ***********************   I would like the assistance of members that have PoE experience in reviewing my findings to help troubleshoot Ethernet failure under PoE.   I powered up the Pi4B & PoE Hat using a PoE power supply and managed to ssh over the wired Ethernet connection. Satisfied it worked, I command lined "sudo shutdown -h now" so I could teach go teach a cla ...
Frustration, doesn't begin to describe the emotions I'm experiencing. I just received confirmation from Newark Canada that an in stock item that was ordered on the 3 April, has been shipped. I have been waiting for a PoE power supply required to further the The Road to Raspberry Pi4B/ PoE Hat RoadTest Review Raspberry Pi4B (4GB) plus POE Hat .   Let's list the anomalies that may have contributed to my frustration: COVID-19 pandemic social distancing protocol implemented in my country Apr ...
A part order arrived today that provided some additional resources to proceed with the testing.   I ordered PoE power supply on April 3 and the Pi4B power supply on April 15, from Newark Canada, guess which one arrived first? The Pi4B power supplies!   Both items where listed as in stock. The PoE power supply is listed as "In Processing" for order status. The man responsible for managing RoadTests Mr.rscasny  has offered to look into the anomaly. Nothing like a man in high place ...
I had a Squirrel moment, after completing the testing in The Road to Raspberry Pi4B/ PoE Hat RoadTest Review (comparison Pi3B+) . A squirrel moment going off and doing something, that takes you away from your current focus.  I was focusing on developing a load test for PoE and then thought I wonder how the Pi performs with just heat sinks and no fan.   The PoE Hat contains a fan to cool it's switching power supply that converts the incoming 48VDC to the supply voltage needed by the Pi ...
While in a holding pattern, waiting for power supply deliveries for both the PoE and Pi4B, I started some parallel work that was proposed in the RoadTest application. Since the specification indicated the PoE Hat was compatible with the Pi3B+, I figure I could start laying out a RoadTest Review framework using the Pi3B+. When the Pi4B is ready I will run the same tests.   Some observation were discovered while Installing the PoEHat on the Pi3B+. Raised heat sinks on a Pi may conflict for ...
My desire would be to open this post with an Son of a who cut your hair last expletive. My tendency to sprinkle pearls of vulgarity in my posts has given cause for the forum moderator to apply sanctions. I'll settle for the graphic to hopefully pass the review..   The Pi4B and PoE Hat arrived today. That should be reason for joy right, not profanity. Unfortunately, the Pi didn't come complete with a power supply. All my Pi hardware is pre-Pi4. I don't have a Type C power supply required ...
