    Overview

    The DM300019 Starter development board offers a very economical way to evaluate both the dsPIC30F and dsPIC33F general purpose and motor control family of devices. This board is an ideal prototyping tool to help you quickly develop and validate key design requirements. This board comes with a dsPIC30F6014A Plug-In Module and a dsPIC33FJ256GP710 Plug-In Module.

    The dsPIC30F6014A PIM is designed to demonstrate the capabilities of the dsPIC30F6014A family of devices using an 80 pin PIM interface. The dsPIC30F6014A is a high performance 16bit Digital Signal Controller in an 80 pin TQFP package. The dsPIC33FJ256GP710 PIM is designed to demonstrate the capabilities of the dsPIC33FJ256GP710 family of general purpose devices using 80 pin PIM interface boards. The dsPIC33FJ256GP710 is a high performance 16bit Digital Signal Controller in a 100 pin TQFP package.

    The dsPICDEM 80-Pin Starter Development Board is supplied with a pre-loaded demonstration program that exercises principal CPU functions and peripheral options that allow interaction with the program as follows:

    • Demonstrates interrupt handling by using switches S1 and S2 to blink LEDs RD4 and RD5, respectively
    • Demonstrates digital-to-analog conversion by generating an audio tone on LINE OUT
    • Demonstrates analog-to-digital conversion by adjusting Potentiometer RP2 and transmitting the resulting digital value to the HyperTerminal on a PC
