BLE P click carries a nRF8001 IC for adding a Bluetooth 4.0 (alternatively known as Bluetooth Low Energy) peripheral device to your design. BLE is an essential feature of today's "smart" gadgets. Its low energy consumption makes it ideal for devices for sport and fitness, proximity sensors, smart watches and so forth. Newer smartphones, tablets and computers have hardware and software support for BLE.

To get you started with BLE P click, use our BLE Android app (works on devices with hardware and software support for BLE). BLE P click communicates with the target board MCU through mikroBUS™ SPI (CS, SCK, MISO, MOSI), RDY and ACT lines. It uses a 3.3 V power supply only.

mikroBUS™ is specially designed pinout standard with SPI, I2C, Analog, UART, Interrupt, PWM, Reset and Power supply pins.

Applications: Developing smart devices requiring a Bluetooth Low Energy device in a peripheral role (sport and fitness gadgets, smart watches, proximity sensors...)

    • Maximum range of up to 40 meters in open space (PCB trace antenna)
    • Additional UART input and output pins (RXD and TXD) serve as a Direct Test Mode Interface
    • Built-in stack features a low energy PHY layer, LE link layer slave, LE host for devices in the peripheral role, and a Application Controller Interface.
    • Compatibility with our open source BLE Android app saves development time.
    • Supported in all mikroElektronika compilers.
    • mikroBUS™ form factor enables easy integration.
    • Compact design and affordable price.
