    When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another—

    We don't need you to declare war on a colonial power. Just let us know that you want to participate in the project build phase of the competition by following these steps:


    1. If you have not already done so, create an element14 Community user profile
    2. Create a blog post or discussion thread with the title "[your name] Intends to Hack Like Heck"
    3. In the body of your blog post or discussion thread, include the following
      • Declaration of Intent
        • "I intend to make a video that shows me creating a working handheld portable gaming device"
      • Acknowledgment of deadline
        • "I will post the video on the element14 Community site before 9:00 am CST on April 2, 2018"
      • Willingness to accept prize
        • "If my video is selected as one of the top ten submissions, I will receive $500.00 USD"
      • Any other information that you want to share about yourself or your project


    Does everyone need to submit a declaration of intent?

    Anyone wishing to be considered for the project build phase of the Hack Like Heck competition must submit a formal declaration of intent as outlined above, regardless of whether or not the participant also submitted a video audition.


    If I didn't submit an audition tape, can I still participate in the project build phase of the competition?

    Yes! All you need to do is follow the steps listed above in order to be an eligible participant in the project build phase.
