About

Imagine a future where 5G connectivity is embedded into nearly everything. You can virtually try on clothing and shop at home using a virtual reality (VR) headsets. Your autonomous vehicle can self-navigate and drive you to your favorite restaurant for dinner! While 5G is still being implemented, this information-packed webinar will discuss 5G from a technical point of view for product design engineers, system engineers, software engineers, and more.

The webinar will cover 5G infrastructure as the new RF systems will exist in an environment that includes more complexity, more performance demands, more compact size, better data throughput and coverage, etc., those are essential for 5G systems including active antennas, radio remote units (RRU) and other RF modules/sub-systems, and raise new challenges in terms of interconnections.

The webinar will wrap up with an introduction to new connection solutions enabling the efficient RF signal and data transmissions in 5G Radio systems. We will discuss how these new solutions can be used to simplify a system design and discuss some key applications.

What you will learn in this webinar:

  • What’s top interconnection challenges in 5G RF systems
  • Understand new technologies from TE
  • How to select optimal connections for the task
Presenter

Marshall Chen is engineering director of TE Connectivity. Over the last 18 years, he has been focusing on the RF and high speed connectivity solutions for wireless and data center system. He's leading development activities in early engagement with customers by developing RF connectors for RRU / AAS, ruggedized solutions for tower mounted power/fiber application in wireless infrastructure. He provides design proposal and advanced development concepts to customer new Gen system architecture. Marshall has been working in TE for 6 years, prior to that, he was working for Rosenberger for over 12 years. Marshall holds the electrical engineering degree from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China.
