Benjamin Innes is an artist from Knoxville, Tennessee. Though he works in a variety of media, he is best known for his hanging mobile installations of deconstructed electronics. To celebrate our shared love for circuitry, we’ve commissioned Ben to artistically deconstruct a culturally significant piece of technology. With the help of your votes, Ben will take on the theme of either home-entertainment, writing composition or communication and deconstruct an object from both the past and the present. He’ll help us take a look back at where it all started, examine where we are today, and consider where we are headed tomorrow. The entire process will be documented and posted right here on element14, and the final piece will be unveiled at the San Mateo Maker Faire this May.
