The MIT Technology Review reports that SigFox, a french company, has picked the Bay Area to demonstrate its wireless network intended to make it cheap and practical to link Things to the Internet, from smoke detectors to dog collars, bicycle locks, and water pipes.


Competition will be tough for sure as big players are preparing their own solutions but should arrive a bit later than Sigfox. Race has already started to build a critical mass of connected objects.
