What got into me? Update: The LEDs I thought broken are still working without head, I can't stop laughing... it's like walking without a head...I think the head dome thing is act as lens and the Würth Elektronik LEDs are hardcore even after the solder heat and head broken. Update: I am working on the soldering WE's SMD LEDs with my tricks and ideas. You know what? it really looks cool and works great...but... I don't think I can do the thermal protection with the board I have etched, it seems super hard and as well the amount of LEDs with thermal holes seems almost snap off point of the board, too close and board is getting weak...My design could work with professional PCB with 3 layers. I am going to finish this project up for demonstration purpose only...will up ...
This update in the LED Road Test explores reflow soldering of Würth Elektronik power LEDs. Reflow systems generally try to use a temperature profile to heat the work up to soldering temperature. NEW UPDATE:  Please check end of the blog post...   I am working hard to finish this project lately...Here is the update of my previous schematics and the final PCB design of the board.     Instead of 2N2222A BJT transistor I am using TIP122 now, the TIP122 can handle high current which is upto 5A and at the peak 8A, this is more enough for me to drive current for my LEDs.
