I'm Nigel; with a background in Mechanical Engineering - long long ago, I've forgotten everything I thought I knew. (And that wasn't a lot). Now I know just enough to be dangerous!
I'm looking to put a basic 12v fan temperature controller together and found a likely circuit online : Temperature controlled fan with a 741 op-amp I have a couple of modifications to make, which include driving 2 fans via different temperature sensors and to cut down on the number of wall-warts - a 5v output to power another device (less than 500mA). Now I can wield a soldering iron & understand the functional requirements. I can even layout a reasonably efficient stripboard circuit, since this is most definitely a one-off. But I could do with some further words of explanation on the circuit. Is this right right kind of forum and if so where should I pose the questions?
See I told you I was dangerous!
