Sadly, I don't think I'll make it out there this year. Last year's was a terrific event. Have a great time Drew!
Never been to it but by your guys comments it must bee a good faire. what kind of things have they showcased in the past?
Maker Faire Bay Area has just about every discipline of maker on a truly enormous scale. Here's my gallery from 2010:
Here's a video from last year:
And the list of makers for this year looks great:
Also, there's many Maker Faires throughout the year so if you can't get out to Bay Area, check out this map:
looks very cool.. thanks for posting all the pictures and info Drew. i will have to check it out.
I received the Maker Faire newsletter yesterday which reminded me that Bay Area is quickly approaching:
So I thought I would ask the community here, who is planning to go?
This will be my third Maker Faire Bay Area. It all started 3 years ago when Mitch Altman managed to convince me during a solder workshop at my hackerspace that I had to come to Califronia for it (and this was only a week before the event!). Several Maker Faires around the country later, I guess you could say I'm addicted
I'm also really looking forward to visiting the Computer History Museum and Noisebridge while I'm out there. Hope I bump into some element14 members, too!
