Re: Bluetooth dongle for RasPi
pholynyk Aug 3, 2012 11:11 AM (in response to dharr19)I have found two that work and one that does not. The easiest to identify is a D-Link DBT-122, with ID 07d1:f101, using a Broadcom chip. The other is a little subby thing, nicely half-round, that sticks out about 1 cm. The product ID is 0a12:0001, using a Cambridge Silicon Radios chip. Finally the non-working one is an anonymous blue dongle with a Silicon Wave chip, product ID is 0c10:0000. Apparently it used to work with older versions of BlueZ, so maybe someday it will again.

pholynyk Aug 4, 2012 11:14 AM (in response to dharr19)Just to make sure
I went out and bought another one ... for my laptop, yes, that's right.... It's anonymous too. The label says "Bluetooth USB Dongle" - but you already knew that. There is a little sticker on the back that says "Power Data 10020584" but I doubt that helps much. It does say "Made in China', but, again, you knew that, too. Here's a picture of the three of them:

siliceo Nov 16, 2016 1:11 PM (in response to dharr19)1 of 1 people found this helpful@David_Harrison,
I know it's been a while since this post, but for the sake of anyone else asking the same question, what I found today (11/16/2016) is the "little stubby thing" is an "Importer520 Bluetooth 4.0 USB Micro Adapter (CSR 8510 Chipset)" -- available at Amazon for under $10.
Cheers!

dharr19 Aug 24, 2012 8:16 PM (in response to recantha)Hi,
Which particular Rii Wireless Keyboard did you buy? Finally able to get one now and hoped to go on Amazon and pick one up. Also, is your keyboard and nano dongle connected to a powered USB Hub?
Thanks
Cheers

Re: Bluetooth dongle for RasPi
recantha Aug 25, 2012 1:26 AM (in response to dharr19)It was... *sound of furious Googling* This one (though not from this supplier, I used eBay)
http://gadgetsin.com/rii-mini-wireless-bluetooth-keyboard-with-touchpad.htm
Basically, it's the one with the pad "on the side", though sometimes I wish I'd got the one with the pad in the middle as it's a little awkward to use, but hell I'm still happy :-)

I've found that almost any BT dongle has worked on the RPI not that I have any funny makes in my pot of gear:)
CPC/E14 have several different compatible makes available. The 2 years since this thread started as improved things tremendously!

Hello All,
Has anyone found a bluetooth dongle that will work with the Raspberry Pi?
